Top 5 in January: Sports, Show, Fashion, Fair

Another year has passed too fast again and a new one begins. Do you have any resolutions for 2018?

Maybe being more active? This resolution can be put into reality directly on New Year’s Day, when the tradional 47th Berliner Neujahrslauf takes place. Start and finish line is at Brandenburg Gate, the route goes along Unter den Linden, encircles Berlin Cathedral and goes the same way back. The four kilometer long route can be done by new runners, too, and is a good start into a sportive 2018!

If you prefer to watch: The 107th Six Days Berlin take place at Velodrom from 25 to 30 January. The who is who of the international racing scene will delight the crowd on six days and nights respectively and fight for the victory in sprinter, derny and team races.

You can see the operetta Frau Luna by Paul Lincke at Tipi am Kanzleramt from 11 January to 11 March. The story: The Berliner Fritz Steppke has invented a balloon and plans to fly to the moon with it which his girlfriends deems ridiculous. But his plan prevails and he and his two friends go on different adventures on the moon.

The latest trends in fashion will be presented at Berlin Fashion Week from 16 to 19 January. The week combines nine fairs such as the Panorama or the Greenshowroom with the Ethical Fashion Show. The star designers’ new collections are on show at, for example, Brandenburg Gate, Arena Berlin, Postbahnhof and Station Berlin. 100,000 fashionistas will come to Germany’s capital for the event. The second Berlin Fashion Week will take place from 3 to 7 July this year.

The 83rd International Green Week showcases the newest nutrional, agricultural and horticultural products and trends. 1,600 exhibitioners present more than 100,000 products: from cheese and vodka to flowers and plants. This year’s partner country Bulgaria presents itself under the motto ‘Aroma of the Sun’ in hall 10.2.
